Non-Commissioned Security Officer Training (Level II)
Online access for applicants in Fort Bend County, the Houston area, and the rest of Texas
State rules require Level II training as a condition of obtaining a non-commissioned security officer license. The course supplied here meets that requirement and is completed entirely online.
Enrollment provides immediate, self-paced access. There are no scheduled sessions and no requirement to attend a physical classroom. Work can be paused and resumed on any device.
Topics addressed under current DPS standards:
- Authority boundaries that apply to unarmed officers
- Observation, documentation, and initial incident response
- Force rules relevant before intermediate weapons or firearms enter the picture
- Expected standards of conduct while on duty
Prior experience in security or law enforcement is not a prerequisite. Passing the exam generates the PSP-36 certificate of completion.
Training Audience: Individuals entering unarmed roles (retail, facilities, events, corporate, or construction) in Greater Houston, including Fort Bend County, or elsewhere in the state. Completion is also the mandatory precursor for anyone who later seeks Level III and a commission.
Licensing path after completion: The PSP-36 is submitted with the non-commissioned license application to the Texas DPS Regulatory Services Division. Fingerprinting and the background check are handled separately through the state process. A license permits unarmed work statewide. Carrying a firearm on duty requires further training and commission.
Firearms qualification is not part of this enrollment.
Cost and access: $40. Single payment. Access begins at once.
